Service and supply capability is important in becoming a world-class gas production, manufacturing and services hub. Growing the sector and maximising local content.
Today, the Territory supports three LNG projects and related service and supply work worth an estimated $400 million per annum. Territory businesses are currently capturing around $100 million of this work annually.
Doubling gas industry supply chain local participation to at least 50 per cent by 2025 has the potential to add an additional $1 billion to the Territory economy over the next ten years.
What are we doing?
Strengthening the commitment of gas operators and contractors to local content
- Growing local workforce and business capability
- strategically developing the service and supply ecosystem.
New specialist service opportunities, such as drilling and hi-tech chemicals are available now.
Increased gas industry supply chain participation brings new opportunities for Territory businesses to broaden their product and service offering, to fill service and supply gaps and benefit from sustained growth for years to come.
