Grow local research, innovation and training capacity

With a growing reputation as innovative thinkers and leaders in gas production and manufacturing, attracting new investment will drive further opportunities for Territorians to enhance skills and capability in emerging new industries and provide industry with access to a highly skilled workforce.

Darwin has a proven ability to develop an agile workforce to support our existing oil and gas industry.

What are we doing?

Collaborating across government, industry, with employers and educators such as Charles Darwin University to understand and plan for the Territory's gas-based growth sector needs over time.

Charles Darwin University, with campuses in Darwin, Alice Springs and Katherine, is the home of the Energy and Resources Institute and the North Australian Centre for Oil and Gas, offering training, research and development capacity to support new projects and are well placed to provide advice on future proofing the sector.
